Green fingers & a conspiracy!

This is mum and dad's garden. They're on holiday. Guess who's the nominated plant waterer!
I do love just pottering around and the colours are so lovely in the garden at the moment but I swear someone or something is having a laugh with me!

Saturday - mum and dad jetted off. The sun shone all day long. I went to give the plants some much needed water and I kid you not, I literally put the watering can down and it started to spit. It got heavier!!!

Yesterday - The sun shone all day. I had lots to do. I didn't get to water the plants (sorry mum!) The sun shone till it went down! It would wouldn't it?!

Today - The sun has been shining all day long. I went to water the plants after work. I watered the geraniums, the herbs, the tomatoes, the hanging baskets, the lettuce and then locked up the house and yes, it started to rain...
...It's still raining!

Do you see my point?!!!!!!!

A momentous occasion!

Yes...THIS happened 10 days ago! Woo-hoo!
Dad finally placed the last parquet block on the pile after hours and hours and hours of cleaning!
HUGE round of applause!!!
This momentous occasion was slightly overshadowed by Larry however (surprise, surprise), who decided to eat over 200g raisins earlier on in the day and then spent the next 72 hours on a drip! Yes, raisins are toxic to dogs!!!
Let's just say the fizz which was chilling quite nicely wasn't exactly flowing!
This is what he was meant to look like...not nursing his poorly tummy in the vet hospital!
Mum had kindly provided him with an England collar and sweatband in preparation for the England v Algeria match (which we were meant to be watching with fizz in hand!!!)
This was actually Larry yesterday after their shocking defeat against Germany. He gave me a look which I read as, "Please remove these offending items pretty damn quick!"

I'm sure this will catch on!!

If you can't decide between curtains, venetians, rollers or shutters, just opt for bubble wrap like mum!
Ingenious!

To Watelet or not to Watelet?...

That is the question!!
No doubt the question you've all probably been asking is why has this blog been so neglected recently...am I right?!!!
Well the truth is, our lives have been taken over by one thing....parquet! It's funny how one little thing (actually 'little' is probably not the best word) can prevent you from getting so many other things done. Mum and dad can't get furniture out of storage or lay any carpets 'until the parquet has been done' and Steve and I can't get our flat back to any sense of normality 'until the parquet has been done' !! Like we keep telling ourselves (every day!)...it'll be worth it when it's finished! Perhaps you can all give us a hand when you get back at Christmas?!! Dad has however, managed to get the bedroom painted/whitewashed - see above pic, their bed has been chosen and the next task is to pick a wallpaper for the bedhead wall. Watelet from Designers Guild first caught mum's eye so we then decided to go on a black wallpaper hunt.
