32 Years!!!

Can I just say, before it turns Friday (we've been at Nanna's) a very Happy Anniversary to my lovely mum and dad.
I think you're pretty damn special!
To have put up with living apart for at least a year, then living together in a teeny weeny mews house....then scraping bitumen of soddin' parquet blocks for hours on end (without ripping each other's heads off)...I think that's pretty good going, don't you?!
I'm really really proud of you both and couldn't wish for better parents.
Love you. ya bairn. xxx

Oooh...sanitaryware!!

Did I say on Sunday that I would have these pictures on here by Monday?
What I actually meant was Thursday!!!! Well, the sanitaryware is now all plumbed in in the main bathroom. We reused the existing basin (shown above) as it's such a good size.

We added some new taps.

...and they only went and sent the wrong fixing didn't they mum?!

This was the heated towel rail that was in the existing main bathroom but it's now been reused in the en-suite. It's fab...and HOT!

Finally, this is the unsanded parquet flooring laid out in our flat... just how it will look at mum and dad's.
P.s - This took Steve at least five hours to clean. 2 square metres. 38 to go!!

Sunday sneak peek

Ok, so I've been lazy on the photo front this weekend.
I did actually pay a visit to the house yesterday to see the finished bathroom...(when I say finished, I mean the sanitaryware is now plumbed in - wallpaper to be added!) and I did take pictures, but I decided I'd post all the pictures tomorrow as I've been shopping and cooking for my lovely friend Ange today! Instead, I thought I'd show you the cushions mum bought this morning for her bedroom. They're super nice (well we think so don't we mum?!)

Four and a half years later!

Mum and dad finally crack open the fizz and celebrate their first night in their (nearly finished) new home! What a milestone!!!

Nanna joined in the fun.

Mmmm...the fizz tasted good...perhaps as it was a long time coming!

Us gals

The wood burner is now in! Naff picture sorry, but it looks really nice!

It just needs pointing and a new hearth which mum and dad picked today. More pictures of that later.

The project manager and clerk of works! Best Buds.

The table all set to host it's first 'proper' meal at Briardene!
Please note mum's bargain phone table and lovely new lamp!

Mum all happy and cooking in her new kitchen.

Tulips

Still supping (as usual!)

Here's a better one of the table. Mum and dad got the lovely pictures of Paris from their friends. When you see them up close they are a really nice mix of pink and grey.

So, not long now...just a few walls to be whitewashed, parquet flooring to be tackled, showers to be plumbed in...It'll fly by I'm sure!!!
